We're in the relentless grip of a brutal cold snap. It's been between 35 and 45º below for the better part of two weeks, but the end is near. It's been rough going, and for the most part I haven't been amused, but I have been making photos.
The cold and darkness are part of the package here, and it would be easy to ignore these stretches, but it just isn't an option. Although, I do find myself day dreaming of the endless days of July while waiting on long exposures. My happy spot is a red chair up the road.

You know, there are some people who envy you right now. We're complaining because our streak of -20 C ended and now we're back near 0 C. And this is Finland we're talking about.
Living at the same latitude as Alaska means that the darkness of winter is very familiar.
I'd love to see the shots you take in your winter light.
ramin,
You're right..it is Alaska after all.
I'll send out some film next week.
