Ahorn Magazine & surprise

the new issue of Ahorn Magazine went online today. again, i've burned most of my morning getting my fill. the photography here seems to always sit just a bit outside of what i am digesting at the time, and the interviews refreshingly unexpected.

the interview with Jocelyn Lee provided the quote of my year. in the interview she recounts advice that another photographer had given her early on in her photographic career. i wish she had named the photographer, so i could give them credit here. the quote "no surprise for the photographer, no surprise for the viewer" is a hook you could hang the rest of your life on. simply brilliant.
