Historic Photos of Alaska

local author, and historian, Dermot Cole has released a new book entitled Historic Photos of Alaska. i've professed my love of late 1800s/early 1900s photos of Alaska before, and i'm pleased to see Dermot pull together dozens of strong images for this volume.

as with any book that aims to capture the entire state in a single volume, it bends a bit under the weight of its own ambition, but its a solid effort. without Dermot, there would be a significant void in documented Alaska history.
