Zoe was in Fairbanks this weekend, and I'm having a hard time coming down. Although we've spoken via email off and on for quite some time, we'd never met. She is a whirlwind of smiles, confidence, excitement, and positive energy. She blew me away. She will be missed.

Fairbanks is a long way from so much, too many people that I love, not to mention the larger photography community. I don't want to be anywhere else, this is true, but it can be difficult. The blog, email, facebook, cell, skype; these are all valuable tools, but nothing beats solid time in another's company.

Thanks Zoe. Apart from being just a damn good person who's a kick to hang out with, you've given me much to think about, much to do, and I've been energized.

Yesterday, ADN ran an article about her time in Alaska.
