my last trip up the road in June was a success on many levels. not least of which is that it provided me with a handful of images that i was desperately missing. photos that i've been searching for. before the trip, in April, i went back through every sheet of film i have burned since the Fall of 2007 to rescan, reconsider, and be very honest with myself.
i'm relieved, today, to have finished an edit of The Last Road North that i'm very proud of. in the long term, i'm not finished with the work, there are holes, but i am more satisfied than ever. so, with that, i entered the Photography Book Now competition. no expectations, but i'm thrilled to have an outstanding panel view this work.
you can view the entire book below..
note: i'm not selling this book (hence the absurd price). it is my ultimate goal to see this book in print, as a beautiful object, when the story is complete. this isn't a slight to blurb, it just isn't yet the time or format.
i will have the complete edit on my site soon as well.

Sadly, I can't get it to load. :( I can't wait to see this edit, Ben, so I hope it'll be on your website soon!
Have you considered entering Critical Mass this year? The deadline is in a little over a week.
Thanks Lane. The viewer can take a while to load - hope you can find a way to view.
I am going to enter Critical Mass for the first time this year. Are you?
Ben, I hope you get it published too. I would like to put it on my shelf!
Kevin, I hope, eventually, publishers are as interested. Thanks.
This looks great. Good luck with it.

hey Patrick. I'm not in any hurry, but this is a good
format to present my work so far.
How's the fire fighting going?
What a beautiful book. I would love to have that on my shelf!
Truly impressive. I am feeling optimistic about your chances of winning this thing...
Leah, thanks - this is a long process...keep a spot
on your bookcase open!
Adam, you know your optimism and encouragment
are apreciated here. See you tomorrow.
Wow, a whole book! It's awesome. I love Deadhorse #2 and #10 among others. That is the most tired face I've ever seen on Ed. Got my fingers crossed for you, Ben!
