shooting around seattle has been a pretty soggy affair the last couple weeks, so i was jazzed to get a break in the clouds yesterday for a bit. just walked up to university avenue like i have done every other day or so- stopping at the used book store (got a mint copy of the 'day books of edward weston'), the used camera store (drooling over a worn hasselblad for way to much), and fingering the glossy goodness of every magazine ever printed at bulldog news.
shooting was an exercise in finding interesting views in one block. i wanted to capture some essence of seattle with the electric buses. i like how the cables cut bold abstracts across the dull sky. i was able to stand in the same place- once on an over pass, and once directly beneath on the street and capture these images. one down, one up.
also the following three were done at a bar. on the outside patio, looking down into the stairwell to the bar entrance, and across the alley.
