my friend Mark Brautigam did a fantastic interview at Camera Obscura a couple months ago. i just learned of it today, and it came at a good time. beyond my photographic appreciation of his work, of which there is much, i love it purely from a old Midwestern boy perspective. this interview makes me not only long for the heartland, its the reason i love photography. way before there is ever a print, its the encounters, the light, the people, the time spent alone, the search. he articulates, so precisely, what i want from my own photography...and from life i suppose.
i encourage you to read the interview, then go make photos, and if you are so inclined buy one of his prints at collect.give
